The lowest voltage makes the longest reed vibrate. The spinning disk excites the reeds of different lengths at different speed of rotations. The longest “tooth” vibrates when the disk spins the slowest.

Copyright © 2000 Instructions:Connect the motor to a variable DC power supply. Gradually increase the motor's RPM (voltage) and watch the reeds vibrate in turn, longest to shortest.
