The Physics & Astronomy Instructional Resource Team has opened several displays this Spring(2004) in two newly constructed display cases in the Physical Science F-Wing lobby. This lobby, already home to the R.S. Dietz Museum of Geology with its Foucault pendulum and Earthquake displays, serves as the “Gateway to ASU’s Physical Sciences.” Tim Cook of PIRT worked with personnel from ASU’s Department of Capital Programs Management* to design the cases, which were hand-built from the ground up by ASU’s Department of Facilities Management**. All PIRT Team members have contributed to the production of displays. Additional displays are in preparation. * Marion Singleton ** Bill Zimmer (welding), Randy Kosir (electrical), Mike Dugan (carpentry), Mike Jungbluth Sr, Mike Jungbluth Jr, Tom Mendenhall (paint)
