Description: 

Used with specially prepared overhead projectors, magnetic field lines are shown by sprinkling iron filings on top of glass plates which have magnets in various configurations attached underneath.

Instructions: 

Select the magnetic configuration (glass plate) desired and place it on the overhead projector. Sprinkle iron filings on the plate and tap lightly with the small mallet.

Purpose: 
To show magnetic field lines between magnetic poles.
