Roll a heavy metal ball down one of two tracks with notches cut into them to make a clicking sound as the ball goes down the track. One track has notches evenly spaced so the acceleration of the ball is easily detected by clicks coming quicker and quicker. The other track has notches spaced so that as the ball accelerates down the track the clicks come at equal time intervals.
