  • Contents of the Poly Density Bottle are mixed together
    Shake the Poly Density Bottle to mix the salt water, rubbing alcohol, and beads together.
  • The white beads float to the top and the blue sink to the bottom
    While the two liquids are momentarily mixed, the white beads with less density then the liquid mixture float to the top, while the more dense blue bead sink to the bottom
  • The contents separate into four layers according to their density
    When the salt water layer sperates from the alcohol, the blue beads rise and the white ones sink until they meet in the center.

Description: 

When a 1L bottle is shaken, the blue and white beads mix within the liquid. When allowed to settle, the the beads separate, white at the top and blue at the bottom. However, shortly the two separated colored beads slowly come together until they meet in the center of the liquid, white on top of blue.

Instructions: 

Shake the bottle so that the contents are well mixed. Set the bottle down and watch the various layers of liquid and beads form in the bottle.
