Description
Two parallel wires are suspended vertically and connected to individual power sources, allowing ~30A of current to flow through them in either the same or opposite directions by a switch controlling the direction of one of the currents. When the currents flow in the same direction, the wires attract each other due to the magnetic fields they generate, illustrating the principle that parallel currents attract. When the currents flow in opposite directions, the wires repel each other, showing that opposite currents repel. This demonstration provides a visual representation of the interaction between magnetic fields and electric currents.
