Description
This demonstration illustrates the independence of horizontal and vertical motion in projectile motion. Two balls are released at the same time: one falls vertically, and the other is launched horizontally from the same height. Even though the horizontally launched ball has a horizontal velocity, both balls fall to the ground simultaneously. This occurs because the vertical motion of each ball is only affected by gravity, which causes both to experience the same downward acceleration, regardless of their horizontal velocity.
